LAPM is committed to serving the local church and offers several equipping and training opportunities. Using biblically faithful principles, LAPM staff members offer seminars, workshops, retreats, and classes on a wide variety of topics.

»LAPM’s “Transformative Care and Counseling Training: A Redemptive Approach

 

The event is a 3-day experiential training event offered to lay and professional people-helpers.

Purpose: To educated, equip, and encourage believers to use a Gospel-centered approach to help others address life struggles in a way that glorifies God, promotes personal transformation and strengthens the Body of Christ in reliance on the Holy Spirit.

Course Objectives:

  • Develop a theological framework to guide personal ministry to others
  • Understand the process of change
  • Grow in proficiency using counseling skills
  • Effectively identify and address heart issues using Scripture

Passionate about peacemaking, LAPM staff members assist in educating, equipping and encouraging church-based peacemaking teams seeking to develop effective case managers, conflict coaches, and mediators.

» Counseling Internship Program


 

 

 

 

 

 

Length: 1 year

We are passionate about encouraging and equipping counseling students seeking to complete their practical experience requirement. The program is specifically designed to help students in graduate counseling programs complete their program requirements while assessing their own personal giftedness, calling and areas of interest. Students from Covenant Theological Seminary, as well as other institutions of higher learning, are encouraged to apply for our internship positions.

» Counseling Residency Program

  • Length: 2-3 months online study followed by 3-6 weeks of on site training
  • Cost: Online Training: $50 per module On Site Training: $500 per week

This advanced program is for individuals who have prior experience in conflict resolution and desire to use the skills acquired in their local church or ministry calling. This opportunity helps to advance reconciliation skills while receiving personal feedback as part of a conciliation team. The residency program offers “hands-on” experience to qualified individuals who work side-by-side with LAPM’s staff.

» Externship Program

It is a privilege to equip professionals from many different fields (e.g., ministry, law, education, business) pursuing certification with the Institute for Christian Conciliation (a division of Peacemaker Ministries). Many externs request short-term sabbaticals from their vocational ministry or professional service to gain the greatest advantage from their time with LAPM. The Externship Program offers “hands on” experience to qualified individuals who work side-by-side with LAPM’s well-trained and seasoned Certified Christian Conciliators. This unique opportunity helps to advance reconciliation skills while receiving in-the-moment personal feedback as part of a conciliation team. Past externs comment that this unforgettable and profound experience equipped them for conciliation ministry in ways no other training can.

» Consulting

We help churches and organizations who are experiencing difficult and decisive leadership transitions. We work closely with the leadership boards to develop a plan of action moving forward. This plan may include crisis management, conciliation work, and transitions.

We also offer assistance to leadership teams in the development of a biblical culture that honors relationships and creates a harmonious environment.
